For cinnamon buttons, beat butter with sugar until well blended, then stir in egg yolks. Mix all the dry ingredients together and stir into the butter dough.
This creates a relatively soft dough that is still easy to shape. Form thumb-thick rolls from this dough and tear off walnut-sized pieces from them. Form them into balls and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper, spacing them slightly apart.
Bake the cinnamon buttons in a preheated oven at 170 °C for 14 to 16 minutes.
