A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Quickly knead dough ingredients with cold hands. Shape dough into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap to rest in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.

Remove skin from apples, cut into quarters and remove core. Cut apples into cubes and sprinkle with juice of one lemon.

Mix pudding powder with apple cider and sugar according to package directions. Bring remaining milk to the boil, stir in mixed pudding powder and make short while stirring. Add sugar if desired.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface, line a 26 cm cake springform pan with parchment paper and form a rim about 3 cm high. Pre-bake in a heated oven at 175 degrees for about 15 minutes.

Stir the apple cubes with the custard and spread on the pre-baked base. Bake the cake at the same heat on the middle shelf for 40 minutes.

In the meantime, knead marzipan with powdered sugar and roll out. Then cut into strips about 1 cm wide and lay in a lattice over the cake. Mix the egg yolk with the milk and brush the lattice with it. Bake the cake for another 15 minutes and cool in the pan.
