For the apple pie, preheat the oven to 180 °C. Grate the apples and dust/blend with cinnamon-cocoa mixture. Cream butter with sugar and yolks until fluffy. Beat egg whites until stiff.

Mix flour with baking powder and mix with grated apples, not squeezing the apples too much. To the butter-yolk mixture always alternate the flour-apple mixture and then gently fold in beaten egg whites.

Pour the mixture into a baking pan (butter and flour it or line it with baking paper) and bake for about 40 minutes. Allow the baked apple pie to cool slightly and dust with the cinnamon-cocoa mixture.
