Preheat the oven to 160°C hot air. For the apple pie in a jar, grease the jars with a little butter.

Mix the room-warm butter and the powdered sugar to a very foamy consistency. This is best done with a stand mixer.In the meantime, peel the apples and cut them into small pieces. In a pan caramelize 2 tablespoons of sugar, mix in the apples, sprinkle with cinnamon and season with rum. Leave to cool for a few minutes over a low heat. When the butter-sugar mixture is nice and fluffy, add the eggs one at a time and stir them in well. Scrape out the pith of half the vanilla bean and stir it in as well.Sift the baking powder with the flour and slowly mix it into the cake mixture. Now fold in the apple pieces.

Fill the apple pie mixture into the glasses – do not fill too much, otherwise the dough will rise over the edge of the glass.Bake in the oven for about 30-35 minutes. Remove and let the apple pie cool in the glass.
