A great cake recipe for any occasion:

The day before, knead together the flour, soft butter and salt. Add the water little by little. Roll dough into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and rest in the refrigerator. Cut peeled apples into large cubes and sprinkle with juice of one lemon.

Caramel: in a large sponge pan, let the sugar completely melt, stirring continuously with a wooden spoon. remove from heat, add the split vanilla bean and pour in the apples in the shape of a wreath. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the oven at 180 degrees (gas mark 6) for one hour. Remove from the stove, cool and put in the refrigerator until the next day.

The following day, roll out the dough and press it over the caramelized apples. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees (gas mark 6) for 40 min. Half an hour before serving, let the cake bubble up on the hob, remove from the hob again after the first heat bubbles and turn out onto the cake plate.
