For the apricot cake, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy, then stir in the eggs, lemon juice, flour, cornstarch and baking powder. Preheat the oven to 175 °C, grease a 24 cm springform pan and sprinkle with the ground almonds.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Press the apricot halves into the dough, sprinkle the almond slivers on top and place in the oven. Bake on the middle shelf for about 40 minutes.
