Melt a tablespoon of butter, sauté in it the ham cut into thin strips and the mushrooms cut into slices. Season with salt, pepper and a little nutmeg and pour over the asparagus spears. Mix the grated white bread and the Parmesan cheese and form over the asparagus spears. Melt the remaining butter and drizzle over the asparagus spears. Bake over high heat until a golden crust is formed.
