Peeled, cored apples cut into 1 cm thick slices, sprinkle with juice of one lemon and rum, marinate with powdered sugar, mixed with cinnamon for a while, dip into batter and bake in hot grease until light brown (3 min), turning once to the other side. Sprinkle with vanilla sugar and bring to the table.

In the Brixen Valley, the apple slices are additionally doused with a warm honey broth.
