For the Baumkuchen from the tube, knead marzipan with egg yolks or mix in a food processor until smooth. Cream butter with powdered sugar, wheat powder, salt, vanilla sugar and lemon zest. Slowly stir in the marzipan mixture. Beat egg whites with granulated sugar until stiff peaks form, then mix into butter mixture. Sift flour and baking powder and fold in carefully.

Preheat the oven well to 250°C top heat and line a deep pan with baking paper. Spread some Baumkuchen mixture and bake for about 5 minutes. Spread next layer and bake in layers for another 5 minutes each until all is used up. (When doing this, spread the first layer a little thicker).
