Instructions:

For the Black Forest gateau, first prepare the cream. For this, whip the egg yolks, whipping cream, powdered sugar, butter and chocolate over steam. The mixture should be nice and creamy. Add the cherries cut into 2 halves.

Add the gelatine soaked in water. Let the whole thing cool down well. While the cream is cooling, you can prepare the dough.

Beat the egg whites until very firm. Slowly fold in the powdered sugar and vanilla sugar. Melt the chocolate with butter and add it as well. Now stir in the flour, nuts and baking powder.

Put the whole thing in a mold and bake at about 180 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove the cake from the oven and cut it into 2 halves and let it cool down as well.

Once everything has cooled, you can spread the cream on the cake base. Pour whipped cream over it once more. Spread the sour cherry jam on the underside of the lid (be careful not to break the lid when turning it over).

Once you have everything, put the lid back on the bottom and spread the cake all around with whipped cream. To decorate, sprinkle the cake with grated chocolate and place cherries and whipped cream gupf on top.
