For the Bolognese sauce, first peel and chop the onion. Squeeze the garlic clove and fry it with the onion in a hot pan with oil.

After a few minutes add the sardines and the minced meat. Add the bacon to the pan. When the meat has taken color, stir in the tomato paste.

Add the canned tomatoes and a pinch of sugar. Season with salt and pepper. Cook over low heat for about an hour. If necessary, add a little more water. Serve the Bolognese sauce with pasta of your choice.
