Instructions:

For the braided muffins / milk rolls, warm the milk with the butter until lukewarm (e.g. in the microwave). Mix the milk-butter with the other ingredients and mix with a mixer (dough chopper). Cover the dough with a clean tea towel and let it rise for ½ hour in a warm place.

Mix again and let rise again for ½ hour. Form small rolls and place in muffin cups. Let rise there again for about 10 minutes.

Brush each bun with beaten egg and sprinkle with hail sugar. Bake in the preheated oven for approx. 30 – 40 minutes at 180°C until the plaited muffins / milk rolls are nice and golden brown.
