Instructions:

Put the flour and salt in a bowl. Crumble the yeast and stir with the water. Add the sugar and continue to stir until dissolved. Keep the yeast mixture warm and let it rise for 15 min with the lid closed. Press a bulge in the flour and add the yeast mixture. Using the dough hook of the hand mixer, mix the flour and yeast mixture until a smooth dough forms. Chop the ham and basil, mix with the remaining ingredients and fold into the dough form.

Work the dough thoroughly and let it rise, then with floured hands form an oval body about 30 cm long, place it on a baking tray covered with greased aluminum foil, let it rise for 20 min, brush it with milk.

Place the baking tray in the middle of the oven heated to 220 °C and bake the bread for 25 minutes until cooked and brown, brushing with milk twice in between.

Cool the bread on the baking tray and serve it as fresh as possible.
