Instructions:

Soak hard cloves in cold water for perhaps several hours.

Make the red wine with the spices and pear syrup for 5 min. Remove the spices and put the pears in the wine. Stew gently at a low temperature for about 20 min. The juice should reach a slightly thickened consistency. Cool the pears in it.

Serve with stiffly whipped cream.

Tips: There are also soft dried pears. These do not need to be soaked before cooking. Cinnamon or vanilla ice cream tastes very good with this dessert.

Our tip: Use sweet red wine for a sweet note and rather dry wine for flavorful, spicy dishes.
