For the caramel sauce, mix the starch flour with a little milk. Melt butter in a saucepan and brown the sugar.

Pour in the remaining milk and cook until all the sugar has dissolved.

Stir in the cornflour while stirring constantly and bring the caramel sauce to the boil again.
