For the caramel sauce, first melt the whole cane sugar slowly and deglaze with milk. On low heat, stirring constantly, dissolve the sugar in the milk.

Mix whipping cream with vanilla sugar and cornstarch and stir into the sauce. Continue to simmer until the caramel sauce thickens.
