For the coal stew, wash the cabbage and cut into small pieces or strips. Cut the onion into small cubes. Cut the carrot and celery into small cubes or slices as well.

Heat some oil in a large pot and sauté the onion in it. Add garlic and cabbage and sauté briefly. Pour in the vegetable soup (can be a little more than a liter, depending on how liquid you like it) and add the celery, carrots, marjoram and thyme.

Now peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes. After 10 minutes of cooking, add these as well and cook again for about 20 minutes.

In the meantime, halve the frankfurters lengthwise and cut into slices. Mix sour cream with mustard until smooth. 5 minutes before the end of the cooking time, add the frankfurters to the stew. Stir in the sour cream at the end.

Do not let it boil any more. Season the charcoal stew with salt and pepper.
