For the cheese sauce, cut the processed cheese into slices and melt in the soup, stirring constantly over medium heat. Pour in the white wine. Mix the cornstarch with the cold milk and whisk it with the sauce.

Let it boil for a few minutes. Season to taste with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Before serving, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the sauce. Serve hot.
