Prepare a light roux with butter and flour, add milk and soup while stirring, bring to a boil.

Grate Gouda cheese and let it melt, add beaten egg and season.

The cheese sauce goes well with cauliflower, broccoli, kohlrabi, chicory or leek.

Meatballs also go well with it.
