Instructions:

For the cherry cards, knead butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, egg yolks, flour and almonds into a smooth dough and let rest in a cool place for 60 minutes.

Cut out 4-cornered cookies approx. 4×4 cm to make 2 trays with 30 cookies each – cut out 1 tray with “eyes”. I use small foam roll molds for this purpose and bake for about 8 minutes at 200 °C (convection oven 180 °).

When cool, brush with hot jam, assemble and sprinkle with a little powdered sugar.
