For the cherry ice cream, heat the whipping cream, milk, sugar and vanilla in a saucepan, stirring constantly (do not boil) until the sugar has completely dissolved.

Allow to cool and gradually stir the egg yolks into the cooled cream-milk. Drain the cherries from the jar and process the frozen cherries without defrosting.

Stir the cherries into the mixture and put everything into the ice cream maker. The ice cream is ready in about 30 minutes (depending on the ice cream maker.)

Fill the finished ice cream into glasses with a scoop portioner. Garnish with a top dab and a cherry.
