Instructions:

Soak the beans in a baking bowl covered with cold tap water for four to five hours. Then put the beans in a sieve, let them drain, pour away the soaking water.

Heat oil in a casserole and brown beef cubes in it. Add onions and garlic and continue to sauté lightly with the meat. Add chestnuts, tap water and red wine, spices and salt and cook gently for one hour until meat, beans and chestnuts are tender. If necessary, add wine or tap water.

If necessary, season with salt and pepper and serve hot.
