For the chocolate cake, first beat the 6 egg whites until stiff and set aside. Then whip the room-warm butter with the powdered sugar until fluffy. Then add the egg yolks and vanilla sugar.

Meanwhile, heat the chocolate on the stove or in the microwave. Once the chocolate is soft, add it to the mixture. Mix the flour, nuts, cocoa and baking powder and also add to the mixture, stirring slowly. Finally, the prepared snow is folded in. The dough goes into a greased and floured cake pan (diameter 24 cm). Bake the cake in the oven at 180 °C for about 50-60 minutes.

After cooling, the chocolate cake can be filled with apricot jam and covered with chocolate.
