Christmas Stollen

Instructions:

Put the flour in a large enough bowl and make a dent in the center. Crumble in the yeast and stir with a little sugar and the lukewarm milk. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 15 minutes.

Then add all the other ingredients and knead until the dough separates from the baking bowl.

Let rise again with the lid closed until the dough doubles in height.

Then shape into 2-3 stollen and bake over medium heat for 1 hour.

While still hot, brush with nut-brown butter (gives good aroma!) and dust the Stollen with powdered sugar.
