Delicious chocolate cherry cake from the tray! Mix all ingredients except the cherries together in a large baking bowl until smooth. Spread parchment paper on a baking sheet (grease pan) and spread the batter on it. Spread the well drained cherries evenly on the dough. Finally, bake in the oven at 200 °C for about 45 minutes (test with chopsticks).
Thomas Erstfeld: I used about 1 kg of pitted, fresh sweet cherries and omitted the nuts. The baking temperature was about 160 °C (convection oven) for just under 50 min.
