Cutting onions correctly is not as difficult as it looks. With a good knife, the right hand position and this cutting technique, the perfect onion pieces will surely gel.

And this is how to cut onions

Cut away the outermost layer of the onion roots, not removing the root completely.

Cut the onion in half vertically.

Peel the two halves and place them cut-side down on a board.

Now cut the onion halves several times (depending on the desired size of the cubes) until just before the root.

The onion should be held so that the fingertips are slightly bent inward. This allows the knife to slide easily along the finger joints.

Now cut the onion horizontally several times, but do not cut all the way through.Then cut across from the top so that the cubes fall apart by themselves as if by magic!

Separate the last piece from the root and then also dice small.
