Instructions:

*4 meat loaves, 2 servings.

A successful combination of crab and beef. As with many dishes that combine fish and frutti di mare with beef and pork, the meat content must not be too high. Otherwise it would drown out the delicate flavor of the seafood.

Peel and chop the onion. Mix the North Sea crabs with the minced meat, onion, egg and breadcrumbs. If you have large crabs, cut them into coarse pieces. Salt, season with pepper, knead well. Season again. Form meat loaves.

Melt the butter in a frying pan that will hold all the meat loaves together. Fry the meat loafs on low heat for about 5 minutes on each side. Bring to the table immediately.

Tips:

North Sea crabs are also sold under the name of garnet. If you can’t find North Sea shrimp at your fishmonger, you can also use any other kind of shrimp.

Fresh crab tails should smell faintly of fish and still have a firm body. Frozen crab tails should not be covered with ice crystals or dried out by freezer burn. The high price entitles you to demand the best quality!
