For the poppy seed mixture:









Instructions:

First, line a baking tray with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 200 °C.

For the poppy seed mixture, separate the eggs. Mix the flour with the baking powder. Beat the sugar with the egg yolks, oil and water until foamy.

Beat the egg whites until firm.

Fold the flour mixture, poppy seeds and egg whites alternately into the egg yolk mixture.

For the curd mixture, beat egg yolks with butter, sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Fold in custard powder, rum and curd.

Beat egg whites until firm and also fold in carefully.

Fill the curd mixture into a piping bag and pipe onto the poppy seed mixture like a lattice.

Bake the curd-poppy seed cake for approx. 50 minutes.
