For the curd lattice cake, first prepare the base. For the base, first mix the powdered sugar and yolks together and stir both ingredients to a foamy mass.

Then while mixing, slowly add oil and the lukewarm water. In another bowl, mix flour, cocoa and baking powder and stir into the mixture.

Finally, whisk the egg whites until foamy and fold into the cocoa mixture. Spread the cocoa mixture on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

For the curd cream, beat the yolks, vanilla sugar and powdered sugar until fluffy and gradually add the curd.

Whisk the egg whites until stiff and fold into the curd mixture. Now fill the finished curd cream into a piping bag and pipe it in a lattice shape onto the cocoa base.

Place the baking tray in the oven at 180 °C for approx. 30 minutes. Then slice the dark curd lattice cake and serve.
