Remove skin from one unit of fresh dates, five to ten at a time, according to appetite; remove seeds and cut in half or quarters lengthwise. Brown lightly in butter. Beat one or two eggs and pour over dates form, set and brown lightly. Done! Sounds a bit unusual, but it is tasty and an oriental alternative to the classic omelet.
