Cook the potatoes, remove the peel and cut into small cubes. Heat butter in a frying pan, add garlic, yogurt, chili and turmeric and cook for 1 or 2 minutes. Stir in potatoes, season with salt and pepper, cover frying pan and simmer on low heat for another 4 to 5 min. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with long-grain rice or fresh bread.
