Cut papaya in half and carefully scrape out the seeds with a spoon without damaging the flesh. Remove flesh from peel with a spoon. Set peel aside. Peel kiwi and mango and finely dice with papaya.

Cut sharon fruit into fine wedges. Halve carambola and cut into slices. Squeeze the lime and marinate it together with the sugar and the sliced fruits in a baking bowl for about ten minutes.

Open physalis and twist leaves upward. Set aside peppermint tips for garnish, cut remainder into tender strips and add to fruit salad.

Place hollowed out papaya halves on plates, fill with fruit salad and evenly distribute physalis on top. Garnish with mint and dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve immediately.
