For the fig dumplings, mix the curd cheese with semolina, flour, egg or soy flour, sugar, oil, salt and nutmeg to a smooth dough and let it rest for a while.
Then form a thick roll from the dough and cut into equal-sized slices for the dumplings.
Press each piece of dough apart with your hand and place a fig on top.
Press the dough well together around the fig so that the dumpling is well sealed.
Bring salted water to a boil, place the dumplings in the water and stir immediately.
Turn down the heat and let the dumplings steep over low heat until they float to the top.
Heat butter in a pan and lightly toast almonds, sugar, vanilla sugar and breadcrumbs.
Carefully remove the finished dumplings and roll them in the breadcrumbs.
