Instructions:

For the fig jam, wash the figs, remove the stem and cut into small cubes. Place in a large saucepan and mix with the preserving sugar.

Heat and puree with a hand blender. Bring to a boil, simmer for 6 minutes until bubbly and add the rum.

Pour into clean screw-top jars and seal immediately.
