Rinse the sweet cherries, dab them dry and remove the stones. You can also use them with stone.

Grease a gratin dish with butter. Spread the cherries evenly in the mold and sprinkle with 40 g of sugar. Preheat the oven to 220 °C.

In the meantime, for the dough, mix flour, sugar, eggs and grated lemon peel thoroughly with a whisk or mixer. Pour over the cherries.

Bake the casserole on the middle rack of the oven at medium heat for 45-50 min until golden. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve on the spot.

Tip: This sweet casserole is delicious both hot and cooled. Instead of cherries, you can also use peaches cut into cubes for the recipe.
