Grandmother’s Slip Cake – Apple Pie

A great cake recipe for any occasion:

Remove the skin from the apples and cut them into rough pieces without the core. Mix eggs and sugar until thick and creamy. Gently stir in the flour sifted with the baking powder and salt. At the very end, quickly add in the oil until hearty.

Pour this thick mixture into a greased springform pan. Spread the apple pieces evenly on top (there should be nothing left of the batter). Sprinkle vanilla sugar on top and bake the cake leisurely in a heated stove at medium heat (about 45 min).

The cake is ready when the tips of the dough “slipped” out from between the apple pieces are golden brown.

Drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Instead of apples, the cake can be made with any other fruit.
