For the almonds, mix margarine, sugar and lemon zest with a mixer until fluffy. Gradually add the eggs. Mix in the cornstarch, flour, baking powder and almonds.

Chill in the refrigerator for about 1 hour. Then cut out dumplings with 2 teaspoons and put them into the deep-frying fat (approx. 180 degrees). Put a maximum of 5 dumplings in the fat, then it is easier to handle with the browning degree.

When they are golden brown, remove them and degrease them on paper towels. Then, while they are still hot, turn the almonds in granulated sugar or powdered sugar on all sides.
