Try this delicious cake recipe:

Cut open dates, remove seeds, chop coarsely. Cut figs into cubes. Rum (or orange juice) over dates and figs form, pull a little bit.

Preheat oven to 200 °C.

Chop tree nuts into small pieces or grind coarsely.

Cream butter with sugar, honey and eggs.

Mix baking powder and salt with the flour, together with the nuts to the fluffy amount form. Add buttermilk and dried fruit as well and mix well.

Grease and flour a cake pan (approx. 2, 5 l capacity). Pour the dough into the mold and smooth it down. Bake in the lower third of the oven for about 1 hour (200 °C). If the surface gets too dark, cover with aluminum foil.

Cool, turn out and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

For 2-3 people: halve the quantity, use a small cake pan. Baking time is reduced to 40-45 min.
