For Gugelhupf with sparkling wine, first preheat the oven to 175 °C (top and bottom heat). Grease the cake pan and sprinkle with flour.

Add all ingredients in order to a large mixing bowl and mix until a smooth batter is formed. Pour into prepared mold and smooth out.

Place pan in hot oven and bake on middle rack for about 60 minutes.

Cool Gugelhupf with sparkling wine in the mold for 10-15 minutes, then turn out onto a serving platter and cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
