Preheat the oven to 175 °C. Grease a Gugelhupf extensively and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

Cream the butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar.

Mix the flour with the baking powder, stir into the batter alternately with the milk.

Pour the batter into the pan and smooth it out. Bake the cake on the lowest shelf for about 45 minutes.

Rest in the pan for a few minutes, then turn out onto a cake rack lined with parchment paper. Put the baking pan over the cake again and let it cool down.
