Preheat oven (electric kitchen stove: 225 degrees /circulating air: 200 degrees /gas:level 4).
Clean and rinse peppers and cut into coarse pieces. Heat oil in a large frying pan. Sear the gyros in it for about 5 minutes, turning. Add peppers and roast for another 3-4 minutes.
Pour everything into a large ovenproof dish. Crumble cheese on top. Bake in oven for about 5 minutes.
In the meantime, rinse cucumber, cut in half lengthwise, remove seeds and grate coarsely. Stir into the tzatziki and season. Garnish gyros with herbs. Serve with pita bread.
