Instructions:

For the herring layered salad, cut the beet into cubes and place in a small bowl.

Wash the tomatoes, cut them in half, remove the stalk and dice them. Put the tomatoes in another bowl.

Now cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, scoop out the flesh and dice as well. Put the cubes in another bowl and immediately sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown. Season with salt and pepper.

Now cut the pickled herrings into small pieces as well and put them in a fourth bowl. Cut half the onion into cubes as well and add to the herrings.

Now mix yogurt, mayonnaise and some lemon juice. Season with dill tips, salt and pepper. Add half of the mixture to the tomatoes and half to the beets.

To make the layered salad, place a serving ring on a dessert plate and arrange the salad in layers. Put the herring and onion mixture in first and press down a bit. Then layer the avocado on top and press firmly again, then layer the tomatoes and finally the beets. Remove the serving ring and serve the herring layered salad with lukewarm baguette.
