For the malakoff cake, mix the sugar and water and boil the sugar water for about 5 minutes so that it boils down to half the amount.

Line a cake pan with plastic wrap. Place biscuits around the edge of the cake pan. Whip the cream and add the powdered sugar.

Stir the Qimiq with the rum and almonds until smooth, fold in the two masses with a spatula. Pour 50 ml rum into the sugar water.

Quickly turn the biscuits one by one in the liquid, line the cake tin with them. Spread 1/5 of the cream, place dipped biscuits closely again and spread cream.

Continue until the last cream is spread. Sprinkle Malakoff cake with almonds and chill.
