A great cake recipe for any occasion:

In the meantime, for the topping, peel and quarter apples. Remove the core. Cut apple quarters lengthwise into slices about 3mm thick. Sprinkle with juice of one lemon. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a dessert bowl. Press the dough into a 26 cm dia. cake springform pan. Pull the edge as high as possible. Place apple slices in a flaky manner on the dough and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Put the pan in the heated kitchen oven on the middle shelf.
