The collection of recipes has been compiled from one of the largest private collections of cookbooks from the 17th to 19th centuries, and the language has been carefully adapted to modern usage.

Prepare a smooth dough, roll it out and cut out plates of 15-20 cm ø. These are spread with melted butter, peeled and split apples (or pitted plums), currants and a little bit of sugar. Roll up the dough sheets and place them one after the other in a pan with enough butter to heat them. Bake for about 20 minutes over medium heat. In the meantime, mix the whipped cream, sugar and egg, pour everything over the Maultaschen and put them back in the oven until the liquid is absorbed.
