Instructions:

Cut the meat into coarse cubes.

In a bowl, soak the rye bread in a little warm water.

Meanwhile, finely chop the onions and sauté them in a little hot lard until translucent.

Squeeze the soaked bread well and mince it with the meat and the roasted onions a little coarsely.

Mix the minced meat with eggs, salt, chopped basil, saturei and finely chopped garlic and knead well.

With slightly moistened hands, shape the mixture into “reinkalan” (thick meat loafs).

Heat some lard in a pan and fry the Reinkalan on both sides until juicy.
