A great cake recipe for any occasion:
Soften fat in a high baking bowl form. Add cornflour, sugar, eggs, flour, cocoa and baking powder and mix well with a mixer on the highest speed. Total mixing time in about 2 min. At the end, mix the rum and chocolate shavings into the dough.
Pour the dough into a loaf pan (30 cm long) lined with parchment paper and bake in an oven heated to 175 to 200 °C for
for 60 minutes (check for doneness!).
After baking, turn the cake out onto an oven rack, remove the paper, cover the cake with icing and sprinkle with flaked almonds.
