Instructions:

1. rinse lentils thoroughly and set aside until needed.

2. Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Add scallions to saucepan and sauté over medium heat, stirring frequently, until lightly browned.

Reduce heat and add garlic, ginger, chili spice and turmeric. Sauté scallions briefly with the spices. Add lentils and mix well. 4.

4. add water to lentils form, reduce temperature and make 20 to 25 min.

When the lentils are soft, season with salt and mix well.

6. lentil vegetables in a serving bowl form. Garnish with chopped green chili and fresh coriander leaves and bring to table on the spot.

This dhal dish is semi-dry and therefore best served with a curry with sauce. Regular onions can be used as an alternative.

Tip: Stock up on a variety of high-quality spices – it pays off!
