For orange cinnamon butter cookies, first quickly knead sugar, flour, vanilla sugar, orange zest, cinnamon, yolks and butter into a smooth shortbread dough. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for one hour.

Towards the end of the resting time, preheat the oven to 175 °C. Line several baking sheets with baking paper.

Roll out dough thinly on floured work surface. Use cookie cutters to cut out any shapes (e.g. flowers) and place on the prepared baking sheets.

Bake the butter cookies in the hot oven in order for 7-10 minutes. Then let them cool on the tray.

Melt chocolate glaze according to package directions. Warm orange marmalade slightly, puree if necessary, and stir until smooth. Spread half of the butter cookies with marmalade, place the remaining cookies on top as a “lid”. Finally, decorate with chocolate coating.

Allow orange cinnamon butter cookies to dry completely and store in cookie jars.
