Peel and finely chop the onions. Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté the onions until golden.

Roughly chop the tomatoes and add to the onions with the tomato sauce. Pour in soup and season with finely chopped ginger, chopped chili pepper, curry and a little salt.

Put in the chicken pieces (cut the upper legs and lower legs at the joint) and steam covered for about 30 minutes until done. Then add the peanut butter and simmer for another 30 minutes.

Arrange the peanut soup in deep plates and put in the chicken shanks.
